DescriptionLocationInstructorsCancellation Policy This two-hour course will cover the basic legal concepts of real estate titles, and title insurance. The first part of the course will focus on the underlying legal theories behind property ownership and will cover topics including: types of property ownership, other property rights including easements and liens, “notice” and the recording of documents, and a review of the title search and exam process. The second part of the course will focus on title insurance and will cover topics including: the history of title insurance, what is and is not covered by title insurance, and how to review a title commitment. He has been involved in the title insurance industry since his first job out of college in 2004 and continued in this industry after graduating from law school in 2009. He has experience in abstracting, title exams, title insurance underwriting, and real property law. In Adam’s current position he oversees First American Title’s title operations in the State of Minnesota and underwrites both residential and commercial transactions. You have until the start time of class to cancel your registration. If you do not cancel and do not show up, members will be charged a no show fee of $10.50 per credit hour.
